Our Greater Boston client is a REIT with properties extending throughout the United States, It provides investors with national reach and local market presence and expertise. The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of full disclosure financial statements on a Quarterly and Annual Basis including SEC compliant financial reporting.
Overseeing financial reporting and analysis, including detailed review of monthly audit packs and financial reports prepared by senior and staff accountants.
Preparation of consolidations/eliminations for internal and external reporting.
Support information needs of tax compliance team.
Develop and/or maintain fund cash flow forecast models.
Responsible for all reporting requirements, including proper accounting treatment within financials based on FASBs, EITFs and resolution of comments from internal legal, external legal, board of directors, independent auditors.
Responsible for calculation and distribution of minority interests, property distributions and common and preferred distributions on a quarterly basis as required by the fund(s).
Review investor service billing(s) as required by the fund(s).
REIT testing on a quarterly basis at the asset and fund level as required by the fund(s).
Technical/ Educational Requirements:
CPA preferred
SEC Reporting required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
