Job Description:
The Database Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, administering and maintaining both MySQL and MS SQL Server databases to support business needs and application development, utilizing strong technical, communication and prioritization skills.
Requirements:
Provide performance-related support and system related support for MySQL & MS SQL Server data structures in production and test environments utilizing current tool sets.
Provide support on all the stages of database implementation and/or database related deployments
Installation of new database instances, applying necessary patches and version upgrades.
Run diagnostic tools to identify database performance bottlenecks, and take appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance. Work with development teams to tune queries.
Troubleshoot performance and non-performance related issues either independently or in conjunction with other DBAs.
Maintain existing environments, including replication environments while ensuring 99.99% production uptime in a SaaS platform.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3
years experience with MySQL 5.x
MS SQL Server experience a plus
3
years DB support role in a 24x7 production environment.
Experience with database replication and clustering
DB Patching and Upgrade skills in production environment
Experience with LINUX server a plus
