NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 4 Years). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration. This Program Support Assistant serves in the Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation (CHOIR) at the Boston Veterans Administration Healthcare System located in Jamaica Plain, MA. The Program Support Assistant performs the following duties:
Providing assistance to Research Staff
Obtaining, organizing, filing, and retrieving reports and correspondence
Preparing status reports, briefings, and presentations
Collecting data and developing information for reports and presentations
Attending meetings, documenting minutes, and disseminating information
Performing as a timekeeper
Scheduling and arranging travel
Providing administrative and clerical support
Other related duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
REQUIRES: One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA''s) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level of Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience include: providing support for research projects and grant submissions; experience in clerical and administrative support; timekeeping; making travel arrangements; and developing and administering databases.
You will be rated on the following Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other characteristics (KSAOs) as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:
Ability to use Microsoft Office or similar software applications
Ability to research, analyze information and prepare reports and proposals
Ability to plan, organize, and develop techniques for efficiency and effectiveness
Ability to organize, manage and maintain office supplies and equipment
Ability to communicate effectively

Applicants will be ranked based on four quality groups, as follows:
Best qualified - applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position;
Highly qualified - applicants possessing experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in most of the requirements of the job;
Well qualified - applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all, of the requirements of the job; and

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
