Summary:
Under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Early Education Director, with collaboration from the ECYR department, the Teacher plans and implements classroom curriculum, maintains childrens records, communicates information to families, and maintains a safe, healthy, warm, engaging, and attractive environment. Age appropriate activities should provide for growth in skill, self-awareness, group relations, and character development. The Teacher assists in Kindergarten readiness for program participants. The Teacher conducts him/herself in a caring, responsible, honest, and respectful manner and is a role model for colleagues, as well as for program participants and families. In addition, he/she ensures focus on programming that promotes healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development.

Responsibilities:
This employee ensures
Classroom curricula that provide growth in skills, self-awareness, group relations, and character development.
Ensures adherence to EEC licensing standards, and creates an inclusive culture.
Communicates information to parents.
Participates in annual campaigning.
Maintains program environments that are safe, healthy, and engaging.
A developmentally sound program for children which provides positive channels to grow, learn and develop to their full potential.
A program which meets community needs in a manner consistent with the YMCA mission.
Responsibilities:
Keeps safety of children as first priority. Emphasizes personal safety and emotional well-being with the children, parents, and early education staff.
Uses positive and constructive methods of child guidance, while ensuring that all staff does the same.
Adhere to the rules, regulations and procedures set forth by the YMCA of Greater Boston, the branch location, and the Department of Early Education and Care, and NAEYC, as applicable
Ensure supervision of children and management of smooth transitions to promote safety and appropriate behavior.
Work with the Lead Teacher in the design of the classroom space and maintain facility and supplies at all times.
Assist the Lead Teacher with relevant assessments on a variety of levels throughout the year by means of progress reports, parent surveys, and program self-assessment.
Provides children with a well-balanced curriculum of specific, planned learning experiences that support their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.
Utilize curricula which is developmentally and linguistically appropriate; provide for the development, interests and temperaments of individual children; supports school readiness and educational development; and include goals for the knowledge and skills to be acquired by children in various areas of learning.
Assume accountability for all children assigned to classroom and connect daily with parents/guardians.
Maintains accurate attendance, childrens files, evaluations, and proper reporting to parents, as required.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor or branch executive.
Position Requirements
A minimum of a BA or BS in related field (additional coursework in curriculum may be required).
Must meet EEC Early Childhood Teacher qualifications.
Excellent public relations and conflict resolution skills in order to facilitate positive relationships with parents, staff, children, and outside agencies.
Two (2) or more years of experience supervising and mentoring staff.
Commitment to the philosophy and goals of the Y, particularly those identified as outcomes for children participating in YMCA of Greater Boston early education programs.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit (at times on the floor with children) and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
