As a member of the Network Services team, the Sr. Network Engineer lends their expertise in network infrastructure (LAN/WAN infrastructure and security) to all IT projects. Additionally, this individual will lead various implementations; especially those closely connected with technologies related to networking.
Principal
Responsibilities:
1. Act as a systems analyst for IT projects; including forming specs and building of hardware; planning for the security needs of the firm, and ensuring that network resources are used most effectively.
2. Maintain existing infrastructure; including daily operation, monitoring, software upgrades and security (firewall, IDS/IPS, etc.).
3. Keep up to date on trends in the industry; threats to data security, enhancements to products that can add value to users, and new and improved ways of meeting firm needs.
4. Help solve escalated user issues; providing top-level support to the help desk, application support, telecom, and other IT departments.
5. Participates in vendor contract management and engagement for new technology and maintenance of existing technology.
6. Participates in and/or manages cross-functional team projects to implement new or updated technology.
5. Mentor junior level staff about systems and processes.
Requirements
1. Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience working in the capacity of a Network Engineer. Expert understanding of networking technologies including several of the following,
Routing protocols, and familiarity with telecommunications technologies &
WAN technologies such as frame-relay, MPLS, leased lines, metro-ethernet, DS1/DS3, OC3.
Cisco Systems switching & routing solutions including IOS and Nexus product lines (Nexus 2000/5000, 4500, 6500, ASR/3800/3900 routers)
Relevant Cisco certifications would be a plus
Juniper SSL VPN solutions
BlueCoat proxy servers
Riverbed WAN/client optimization
Working knowledge of several of the following technologies
Cisco Call Manager v7.x/8.x
Cisco Unity Connection
Windows DNS configuration
Structured cabling standards & data centers
3. Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
5. Knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles
6. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues in the network infrastructure and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
