POSITION SUMMARYThe Development Coordinator reports to the Senior Development Officer and supports and assists with the day-to-day management of the Development Department of the Office of the Arts.

They will support overall stewardship and fundraising efforts for a robust annual giving program for donors of varying scale.
The Coordinator will also solicit and manage an assigned portfolio of entry level donors and be responsible for meeting set annual goals within their donor segment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Manage all logistical planning and execution of annual fundraising and donor events, including donor communications for large level fundraising galas and events, with guests ranging from high profile donors and prospects to Emerson College and community leaders.
Manage and solicit an assigned portfolio of entry level donors in the 0-$100 segment Plan, manage, and execute donor cultivation and stewardship events with leadership and Senior Development Officer.
Convert patrons and friends to annual supporters and partner with Development Team on donor acquisition, retention and upgrades through assigned cultivation and stewardship efforts; including benefit fulfillment Serve as an active prospect identifier and conduct prospect research for the Senior Development Officer and Foundation Relations Manager.
Work with Institutional Advancement and Advancement Services to screen for wealth and give capacity scores.
Assist the development team with preparation of annual appeal solicitation documents and mailings.
Partner in planning and implementing multiple direct mail (physical and digital) appeals annually.
Involves working with printers, mail-fulfillment vendors, and key organization staff.
Work with the Senior Development Officer and Marketing team on theme, and artistic concepts.
Provide excellent communication and customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our prospects, donors, members and friends.
Oversee the creation and prompt delivery of all ArtsEmerson and HowlRound donor acknowledgement letters for gift officers and OA leadership Work closely with the Senior Development Officer and other department staff in coordination of fundraising strategies that integrate with the organization's initiatives.
Partner with the Development Operations Manager for creation of reports, gift processing, appeals and mailing lists, develop criteria for list pulls to track success.
Track budgets, progress, deadlines, goals and objectives related to annual giving and event responsibilities and metrics.
Lead organization of Development Google Drive folder.
Manage schedule of and agendas for interdepartmental, event-based meetings, such as project and debrief meetings, weekly department meetings with calendar review, etc.
Assist Senior Development Officer with calendar scheduling of donor meetings when needed.
Create and update, as necessary, departmental events and deadlines on calendar platforms, such as EMS, Google, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
Bachelor's Degree in Arts Administration or arts-related business/marketing field preferred, but not required 3-5 years of relevant experience in development and administration in an office environment, event planning and hosting, database administration, and personal interaction required.

Must possess knowledge of fundraising principles and practices and maintain a professional, polished demeanor.

This position is primarily a hybrid role with mandatory days in the office as needed.
The hybrid arrangement will be made upon hire.
Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Boston campus in order to ensure operational effectiveness.
