The Helpline Training Coordinator (HTC) trains, educates and supports staff and volunteers so they are prepared to answer calls and texts on our 24/7 helplineThe HTC works to fulfill our mission - to prevent suicide and offer hope and support to those affectedThis position supports the Helpline Training Manager with administrative tasks related to training organization and preparationThis position requires the ability to have a flexible schedule for training, with evening and weekend requirementsKEY
Responsibilities:
Assist HTM in leading volunteer training for helpline, text and chat befriending services Support the Helpline Training program by completing administrative responsibilities related to training Support volunteers as they progress through training by facilitating roleplays Utilize a Learning Management System to assist HTM in creating and maintaining training content Evaluate overall training and monthly class trends to continue strengthening current Helpline Training Coordinate Refresher Training for returning volunteers Assist HTM in building and sustaining annual training for established volunteers Train, onboard, and support roleplay mentors Support the growth and development of volunteers including identifying and helping to create continuing education opportunities Maintain current and accurate records and files through the Volunteer Module of Salesforce Other responsibilities as assigned by HTM REPORTS TO:
Helpline Training Manager (HTM) KEY QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in training and or/teaching Experience with training remotely a plus Knowledge of the field of suicide and suicide prevention preferred Familiarity and or experience with Learning Management Systems Strong communication skills, including the ability to make effective and persuasive presentations Adept at interacting with others in person, over the phone, on zoom, or via email Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality Ability to work independently and collaboratively to maximize teamwork across the organization Must be able to evaluate problems accurately and resolve conflict displaying good, sound judgment SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of the Befriender Training and minimum 2 learning shifts on the helpline after hire Responsible for staffing Helpline if volunteers are not available to ensure 24/7 service Must be able to flex schedule and work 4-5 evenings per month and occasional weekends as needed On-call rotation:
Provides on-call support to volunteers for urgent situations in rotation with 4-6 teammates Supports interns from local colleges and universities through supervision and evaluations Collaborating with the Crisis Services team to promote the engagement of and maintain community amongst our call/text takers Support and attend Samaritans key fundraising events STARTING SALARY &

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
