We are one of Boston's oldest and most respected philanthropic organizations and we are currently seeking a Manager, Prospect Research.
Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Philanthropy Operations and Strategy, the Prospect Research Manager maintains primary responsibility for the identification of prospects for new or growth philanthropy with CJP and providing and analyzing constituent information to help inform prospect cultivation strategies.
The Manager partners with staff across CJP to develop prospects for annual, supplemental, and legacy giving to CJP.
Essential Functions:
Partner closely with fundraisers and staff to support their efforts and enrich prospect cultivation across the department by providing timely, accurate, and analytical information to inform the fundraising process.
Build strong relationships with staff- offering advice and guidance on prospects and seeking regular feedback.
Proactively work to identify, research, and analyze prospects for new or increased philanthropy to CJP.
Refer unassigned prospects for assignment.
Maintain biographical and wealth data within Blackbaud CRM, working in partnership with the Data Strategy & Insights team.
Work with AVP, Philanthropy Operations and Strategy and Senior Director, Growth Philanthropy to develop and implement prospect identification strategies across varied sources including event prospecting, volunteer referrals and review, staff recommendations, list review, CRM, and news screenings.
Participate in regular donor strategy meetings and help inform fundraising strategies.
Identify and provide full and accurate research on individuals, companies and foundations with the capacity to make transformational gifts in support of CJP's Strategic Investment Priorities and endowment priorities.
Think creatively to align prospect strategies with CJP's fundraising model, maintaining a focus on the greater Boston Jewish community to identify networks and relationships that may drive prospect strategies forward.
Collaborate with members of the development operations team and colleagues across CJP on ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements Education:
BS Degree
Experience:

years in of experience in non-profits 3
years working in a prospect research capacity Preferred Skills/
Qualifications:
Flexible, highly organized and detail oriented Ability to identify and adapt to shifting priorities, be flexible and resourceful, and exercise professionalism with numerous constituencies Excellent planning, strategizing, analytical, and implementation skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks Strong initiative in designing and pursuing goal-oriented programs and projects.
High Proficiency in Windows environment, including MS Word, spreadsheet, Database and Internet Strong writing skills specifically related to professional fundraising briefings/reports Experience with Blackbaud CRM or similar donor database preferred.
Strong knowledge of research sources including databases such as AlumniFinder, iWave and other electronic data available.
Strong knowledge of outside resources, including social media platforms and internet research Working Conditions:
Hybrid Work Schedule:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office work is required; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays remote work option applies.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, much of which will be working at a computer.
