Description


The Director of Safety will be responsible for:


As a Safety Manager for this General Contractor that specializes in brownstone renovations, condos and ground up residential work, your primary responsibility is to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees and subcontractors involved in construction projects. You will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety, mitigating potential hazards, and adhering to regulatory standards. Your specific job responsibilities include:


  1. Safety Policy Development:
    Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific hazards and risks associated with HVAC, piping, and duct work in residential construction.

  2. Safety Training and Education:
    Plan, conduct, and oversee safety training programs for all personnel involved in the mechanical construction process, including onboarding, ongoing refresher courses, and specialized training for unique tasks or equipment.

  3. Compliance Monitoring:
    Regularly monitor and evaluate the contractor's safety practices to ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ASME).



Profile


The Director of Safety will have:


  • Proven experience as a Safety Manager with a General Contractor or Sub contractor.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems including HVAC, Piping, Duct work, electrical, and framing
  • OSHA 500 Certification (Required)
  • CSP Certification (Preferred)
  • Great Communication skills
  • The ability to identify risk, track progress, and report incidents to Leadership
