Application Analyst
The Research Information Systems & Computing (RISC) group is looking for an Application Analyst to be a key member of the RPDR (Research Patient Data Registry) team. We are looking for a self-motivated, highly qualified individual who demonstrates great attention to detail and can work as part of a small, but very efficient group. This position will report directly to the Corporate Manager and will be working closely with other analysts, developers and research based teams.
The incumbent's primary responsibilities will focus on analytical support for multiple complex projects within clinical systems that are being integrated into the RPDR data warehouse. S/he would participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and on-going support and maintenance of new and existing clinical interfaces. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to understand and document source functionality and data points, system dependencies, and integration requirements. This role will be interacting with analytical, development and operational team members across the team and organization.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
The candidate should have prior experience working with clinical data, creating specifications, managing processes, working with customers, and should have an understanding of healthcare data delivery. This position requires knowledge of healthcare data, databases, as well as experience in ETL development and testing.
Additional requirements:
Develop project scope, objectives, specifications, and critical path actions; plans project life-cycle deliverables, and timetables; participates in the exploration, evaluation, and design of technical solutions
Perform in depth analysis of source data and participate in the development of the ETL process as well as performing data validation and testing processes
Insure completion of all projects in accordance with an established project timeline.
Coordinate multiple complex tasks to completion independently or with minimal guidance.
Perform application testing as necessary.
Collaborate with RPDR technical and operational teams to deploy and validate that the tools are working properly.
May be responsible for planning and managing new development and support efforts in the query tool and other RPDR products and services.
May include creating, analyzing and documenting large and complex health care data sets in the RPDR.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and accurately document problems and their probable causes and work closely with developers to identify, test and implement solutions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Required
5
years of relevant analytical experience working with, debugging, and developing enterprise applications
Expertise in creation and execution of clear, concise detail-oriented test plans/cases and related documentation
Familiarity working with large datasets and relational databases including SQL and Microsoft Access; familiarity with HL7 interfaces
In-depth knowledge and experience with QA analysis
Ability to work with developers, project management, and key stakeholders to facilitate ETL process development
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:
Team oriented; operate in a team environment, collaboration with fellow team members and external upstream system contacts persons is critical
Strong, demonstrable analytical/problem-solving skills and detail-oriented.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic with a demonstrated ability to work independently, taking initiative to outline work tasks and deliverables
Understanding of the flow of data through complex architecture, necessitating thorough data and system analysis and an appreciation for the consequences that erroneous data or failure to follow protocol could have.
Knowledge of hospital and clinical information systems, familiarity with electronic health records is required
Strong demonstrable knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare/medical concepts; knowledge of standard code sets such as ICD9, CPT, SNOMED, LOINC preferred
Familiarity working with large datasets and relational databases including SQL and Microsoft Access; familiarity with HL7 interfaces
Ability to prioritize and simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects that may have competing timelines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of QA principles and their utilization
Experience reading, interpreting and writing test plans, functional and technical specifications
Strong PC skills required, including knowledge of PC applications and MS Office suite; knowledge of SQL, HTML and XML preferred; knowledge of MS Access, MS Project, Acrobat Publisher, MS Frontpage a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
