Kleinfelder is seeking a Lead Highway / Roadway Civil Engineer with experience in the design of highway and urban roadway projects to join as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in our Boston, MA office. This position has flexibility to be onsite, remote or hybrid. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects and will work closely with our other civil groups and markets. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual who is inspired to promote and support the growth of our roadway, highway and civil sectors for both our public and private clients, including municipalities throughout New England. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in civil engineering and a strong desire for learning and sharing knowledge. They will work with a team of civil engineers with varied engineering backgrounds to collaborate and deliver a wide range of projects for high-priority clients in New England. Responsibilities in this role will include:
Lead Highway / Roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban streets roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements. Lead cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary highway / roadway design projects for high-profile state agencies and large municipalities in the New England area while supporting and learning from Senior Project Managers while training and mentoring staff engineers. Lead projects technically from the conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase to final design and for some contracts, through construction phase services Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals, to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables Prepare and oversee detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages Working with Project Managers to ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements Opportunity to build long-term client relationships and support business development initiatives. To be successful in this role you will need:
Experience with the various aspects of roadway design, utilities and utility coordination, development of construction documents, and construction support services. Experience with developing roadway/highway designs in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) design guidelines and standards Technical experience with highway and stormwater design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD)with capability to produce and to responsibly delegate and oversee quality engineering designs and plans. Self-motivation with good communication and organizational skills with an eagerness to take on increasing challenges and a strong passion for the work. Ability to work in a team environment and to maintain positive relationships with team members and clients. Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering 7 to 10 years' experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for highways. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Civil EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
