The Assistant Director, Content Development is a new role that adds managerial capacity to a growing team. Reporting to the Director, Content Development, the Assistant Director will manage a team of Content Developers, with a specific focus on onboarding and training new team members. The Assistant Director will facilitate a strong feedback and growth mindset model in supervising new Content Developers as they learn how to best present and feature the work of HBS faculty in an online format. The Assistant Director will keep training materials up-to-date and reflective of best practice and standard operating procedure. Job-Specific Responsibilities Manages a team of Content Developers, a group that work in close collaboration with faculty on content development and serves as HBS Online pedagogy and course platform experts Manage performance of Content Developers, providing training and feedback during the initial Orientation & Review period to ensure skill development milestones are met and beyond the O&R period as Content Developers gain competency in their roles Work with Director, Content Development to allocate Content Developers across portfolio of projects, matching skillsets with project needs Review and provide feedback on work of Content Developers on a daily basis Train Content Developer(s) in development processes such as working with Faculty, accessibility, writing, editing, working with Creative team, and platform entry Update and maintain onboarding and training materials reflecting a comprehensive understanding of HBS Online course platform capabilities, user experience guidelines, and pedagogical possibilities Lead Content Development team projects, which may include topics such as assessment, emerging technology, etc. Other duties as required Basic Qualifications BA/BS and seven years relevant experience or advanced degree and 4
years of experience Additional Qualifications and Skills Strong written and verbal communication and feedback skills required Management or mentoring experience preferred A background in economics/finance/accounting, leadership/strategy or any business related discipline is preferred Intellectual curiosity, a passion for education, and a collaborative approach to content development Capability to identify priorities, balance competing demands, and manage work to deadline.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Editorial & Content ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
