Overview Responsible for overall operation and direction of the Resource Center. Plans, develops, administers, and provides information services and resources for current and projected administrative, educational, managerial, marketing, research, and strategic planning needs to support Joint Commission products, services, and initiatives. Plans, develops, and manages the acquisition, cataloging, organization, maintenance, and availability of various print, non-print, and electronically-accessed resources. Furnishes accurate, timely complete, and relevant information and resources to facilitate staff decision making and problem solving. INDTJC Responsibilities Develops, implements, and administers policies and procedures related to library operations, acquisition of materials, circulation, inter-library loan, and research work. Monitors and participates in the daily operations of circulation, documents delivery, inter-library loans, and collection of statistics. Works closely with internal customers to provide information needs through on-line and manual literature searches, acquisitions, abstractions, and retrieval of information. Delegates to librarian, as necessary. Investigates, develops, and implements new and existing services, systems, and programs to meet changing staff information needs. Sunsets or archives materials, programs and services no longer relevant. Plans, develops, and manages acquisitions in anticipation of staff needs. Develops, monitors, and maintains the cataloging and classification systems for accessing of materials and resources in the Resource Center. Prepares regular metrics and reports on acquisitions, circulation, document delivery, operations, and general administration of the Resource Center. Manages the librarian. Establishes work goals and evaluates direct report according to such standards. Develops and supports librarian. Develops and maintains effective relationships with local public private, special, and university libraries to expand and supplement the Resource Center's collection via inter-library loans. Monitors and processes all inter-library loans and document delivery services related to loans. Prepares, analyzes, and administers the library budget. Controls expenditures and maximizes resources within fiscal constraints. Reviews trade publications and other information sources, interviews publisher and vendor representatives, and consults with other colleagues in selecting materials and equipment for purchase. Produces bi-weekly current awareness communication by scanning current literature and abstracting articles of particular interest to Joint Commission board and staff. Distributes via email and posts on RC website. Orients internal customers to the Resource Center and trains on the use of reference materials for research. Extends outreach across enterprise. Keeps current on developments in library science. Qualifications The level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a master's degree in library and information science, with an academic background in a basic science. Five to seven years of experience in a special, medical, or research library, including two years of supervisory experience. Also, two or more years of on-line searching experience. Extensive experience in online searching using PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane, and other health care databases. Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and flexibility.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
