We are currently searching foraseasoned Regional Sales Manager (RSM) based in Boston, Massachusetts for our Unistrut Construction business.In this role, the RSM focuses on promoting and developing our position in the Healthcare, Data Center and Complex Commercial Construction markets throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.Our primary customers in these segments are sophisticated larger General Contractors serving the renovation and new construction segments building marque or highly visible projects across the region. What youll do:
Support our top-level strategic priorities for growth by developing an action plan to achieve sales revenue and margin objectives. Build strong trusting relationships with our customers and provide unmatched quality, delivery, and value. Manage inbound lead services (Dodge, Medical Construction Data, etc.) while balancing outside networking requirements to expand lead generation efforts. Examine and interpret blueprints and reflected ceiling plans to find Unistrut appropriate scope of work and coordinate requirements to the estimating team. Take ownership of the entire bid submission process. Work to uncover customer needs and manage submittals, bid sheets, NDAs, etc. Coordinate with our project management team and walk job sites (as required) to understand site conditions. Develop successful pricing strategies, demonstrate earned value, and negotiate effectively, to secure the contract from the customer. Support the needs of the customer once work is awarded including contract review, securing change orders, and aide with collections where appropriate. Travel requirements are 30-40% of the time and critical to the position. What youll bring:
8-10 years of Executive-level construction sales experience selling a highly engineered solution. A history of building relationships in this market and industry segment. Possess a technical aptitude and comfort in understanding blueprints and specifications. Financial acumen, integrity, strong team player, exceptional work ethic, and sound decision making. Ability to think strategically and develop long term goals while tactically reacting quickly to changing market conditions. Word, Excel, PPT, and CRM tool experience. What youll accomplish:
Within 3 months, youll:
Complete the Atkore immersion program. Understand how the RSM role contributes to Atkores overall strategy. Develop relationships with Unistrut Construction stakeholders that help support our sales objectives. Gain an understanding of the sales process and become familiar with the tools to effectively manage projects. Begin learning our product, services, and overall value proposition for each vertical market. Within 6-months, youll:
Develop a territory sales plan to help drive sales in your market. Create strong relationships with your local project manager and superintendent. Become proficient at Sales Force to manage projects, conduct pipeline reviews, and deliver forecasts. Identify our scope of work on drawings and communicate requirements to our estimating team. Articulate who we are, what we do, and confidently deliver our value prop to a customer. Deliver proposals, conduct site walks, and strengthen customer relationships in your territory. Within 12-months, youll:
Become a sales subject matter expert and make recommendations to improve our business. Proficient at reading drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Identify customer needs and prioritize projects we should bid on. Capable of estimating simple projects without assistance. Conduct complex scope reviews with customers. Establish strong relationships with several GCs, ECs, architects, and end users. Begin taking market share from our competition. Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Sales Management & Operations, SalesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
