Team Lead- China Public and Cultural Diplomacy

Team Leader:
(Public/cultural diplomacy and/or or strategic communications specialist)The Team Leader plays a crucial role in the success of a three-year program set to begin in 2024, which will involve overseeing the delivery of programming in China.
This role is based in Beijing, China.
What you will do:

Be responsible for meeting project objectives, leading the team to deliver results, and ensuring that all objectives, deliverables, and outcomes are met while adhering to EU operational, commercial, and reporting requirements.

Manage and oversee a team of long-term and short-term experts and local staff and act as a representative for the Public and Cultural Diplomacy Project to government officials, stakeholders, and partner organizations.
What you will need:

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required for communicating convincingly in a trust-building manner with a wide range of stakeholders.

Proven familiarity with new/multi/social media and event management
Strong reporting and article drafting skills.

Strong and proven people management skills to lead, motivate, and manage multi-cultural teams and individuals towards delivering high-quality results.

Strong computer literacy skills.

Very strong project management skills and solution-oriented attitude
Eye for detail and accuracy, to ensure high-quality standards for the implementation and impact of all activities.

Basic knowledge of statistics/data collection and analysis and ability to draw useful insights from the activities performance to increase and improve future activities.
Qualifications:

Masters degree in a related field is preferred.

In the absence of a master's degree, equivalent professional experience of at least 3 years in addition to the requirement of at least 10 years of general professional experience.

High proficiency of written and spoken English at C1 level or equivalent.

Professional experience in one or more of the following fields:
public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, and strategic communications.

Provision of expertise of minimum one (1) year in at least one (1) project implying the knowledge of European Union affairsPreferred
Qualifications:

Proven deep familiarity with EU policies, EU values and EU public diplomacy.

Experience in working with the public diplomacy sector in China, with networks of Chinese and European media, cultural operators and other relevant organizations active in public and cultural diplomacy.
