Systems Engineer / Administrator

Why This Role is Important to Us:
The Systems engineer will work as part of a team and is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware (physical/virtual) and software and related infrastructure.
They will work to design and implement complex infrastructure solutions in a sustainable, supported, cost effective and reliable approach across different technologies This role will be responsible for the administration and support of a physical and virtual Windows server environment, VMWare infrastructure, application servers and the hardware and storage needed to run our Business-critical applications.
Provide technical expertise to support the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of projects, releases, upgrades or changes at the OS, software, and hardware level.
Use and maintain the range of products and productivity tools that support the operating environments.
Ensure stable performance for environments through monitoring, and performance tuning.
Perform capacity planning and performance prediction.
Plan and implement major software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.

None What You'll Be Doing:

Responsible for building, configuring, maintaining, and documenting IT infrastructure.

Has expertise and knowledge to support the infrastructure and troubleshoot complex issues -- MS Windows stack, VMWare vCenter and ESXi servers, Linux, server, and storage hardware
Beyond core operating system, administer other Microsoft technologies supporting the environment MS SQLServer, Terminal Services, IIS, etc.

Look for opportunities to leverage new technologies, approaches, and automation to drive improvements in service and operations.

Define and track performance metrics to ensure efficient use of IT resources.

Pro-actively review the health and wellbeing of the environment to prevent downtimes.

Pro-actively monitor other elements of the environment as necessary, such as:
completion of backups, security, and compliance controls, etc.

Work with other IT teams to configure, test and deploy systems and applications
Provide problem diagnosis and resolution.

Prioritize and execute tasks, in a time-sensitive environment.

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Experience Required:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the IT industry
Minimum 3 years server administration experience in a VMWare management

Experience and working knowledge of Azure Active Directory, O365 cloud, etc.

Experience using PowerShell and other scripting tools
Experience with backup and restore applications Experience Desired:

Expert level experience and/or certification for Microsoft business products (o365, AAD, Teams, etc.
) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Expert knowledge in the Microsoft stack, VMWare (ESX, VMs), physical servers, Backups.

Have solid understanding to maintain domain services such as AD, GP, OUs, and certificates.

Implement proactive monitoring and automation:
tools/scripting to automate tasks, enhance and simplify support and proactively address issues to minimize business impacts
Attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills
Ability to adhere to and meet deliverables following strict service level agreements
Flexibility to think strategically as well as provide hands-on assistance and to support the organization in rapidly evolving requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
