Part -Time Registered Nurse (RN) PACU (Waltham, MA)

GENERAL Overview:
PACU experience is required This PACU RN (PACU experience required) is a registered nurse who is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families, including delegation to and supervision of non-professional and support staff.
The staff nurse, as primary nurse, is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of a designated group of patients.
She/he collaborates with the Nurse Manager and members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal Patient outcomes.
She/he also collaborates with the Patient toward efficient and effective personnel and unit management.
REPORTS TO:
Nurse Manager/nurse leader of the specific area.
Responsibilities:

0Provides competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process and a primary nursing model.

1Provides and maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families.

2Articulates the primary nursing role to the patient, family and health team members.

3Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.

4Coordinates involvement of the patient, family and health team members in patient care, including patient/family teaching and discharge planning.

5Documents relevant patient information.

6Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other health team members.

7Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective way.

8Performs specific functions as described in the unit Scope of Service.

9Provides care appropriate to age group of patients on assigned unit(s) as described in relevant unit Scope of Service.

0Collaborates with other professionals and directs nonprofessional nursing personnel in maintaining recognized standards.

1Teaches and directs all nursing personnel for whom she/he is responsible.

2Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.

3Appropriately utilizes nursing resources.

4Interprets hospital and departmental policies and procedures to nurses and other health team members.

0Participates in daily operational activities necessary for safe patient/staff environment.

1Utilizes resources efficiently to facilitate optimal patient care.

2Provides input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.

3Participates in unit and departmental committees for formulation of nursing and hospital policies and procedures.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

0Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practices.

1Adheres to Department of Nursing requirements for required training.

2Identifies own learning needs and goals and develops a plan to meet them.

3Maintains and develops professional practice through continuing educational programs and appropriate learning experiences.

4Contributes to relevant committees, professional meetings, continuing educational and/or formal academic programs.
Current license as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
PACU/Recovery Room Experience absolutely required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
