Job DescriptionProgram DescriptionThe Boston EMA Ryan White HIV/AIDS Planning Council is a volunteer committee of stakeholders and People Livingwith HIV (PLWH) that sets priorities for HIV services to be delivered in the community, and votes to allocate fundingto each service category.
This is a federally mandated activity under the Ryan White legislation.
The Planning Councilis supported by Planning Council Support Staff, a team that works with the Planning Council to organize, plan andimplement the Council's mandated tasks such as prioritization of services and funding allocation.
PCS also helps torecruit, retain and support members on a daily basis.
Please describe the internship project:
The Boston EMA Ryan White Planning Council is seeking a part-time intern to assist with the Anti-Stigma Campaign,an initiative that aims to both reduce negative attitudes and beliefs about People Living with HIV (PLWH) and increasepublic awareness and knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
In 2020, the Consumer Committee, one of 5 subcommittees of theBoston EMA Planning Council, created a campaign idea in order to confront and dismantle the stigma that stillsurrounds the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
They named it Someone You Know and Love.
This campaign is centered around ashort film that draws from personal experiences of PLWH, and the stories shared are used to educate the general publicand dispel harmful myths about PLWH.
The Consumer Committee hopes that audiences will think about the peoplethey know and love in their lives and realize they may already have a close relationship with someone living with HIV.
The Anti-Stigma Campaign Intern would work with the Anti-Stigma Campaign working group (a subcommittee of theConsumer Committee) and the Planning Council Support (PCS) Team.
The intern would report to the PCS manager.
The focus of the internship is to assist with the promotion of this meaningful campaign through outreach, educationalevents, website development, and the creative design of merchandise, marketing materials, and advertisements.
Internship tasks could include, but are not limited to:
Film Outreach - Engaging with community groups, health centers, schools/universities, agencies, hospitals,etc.
to share film and mission of campaign, ultimately increase knowledge and reduce HIV stigma in theseimportant spaces.
Storytelling Sessions may include engaging with local high schools to discuss HIVknowledge, stigma, prevention education with high school students.
Ending the HIV Epidemic Funding - Work with PCS, Consumer Committee/Anti-Stigma Ad Hoc group tomanage timeline of EHE funding proposal and budget.
This could include several tasks under the 4 pillars of theEnding the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Proposal, including:
Web Design:
Working with the website building and hosting company Squarespace to updatecontent, track visibility, and respond to inquiries.
Existing knowledge of Squarespace is notnecessary, but a baseline knowledge of website creation and creative skills is required.
Previouswork with Squarespace is beneficial.
Merchandising Marketing:
Create merchandise that can be distributed to Planning Councilmembers, BPHC staff, and the community.
This could include logo design, flyers, brochures,communications with merchandise organization, tracking orders.
Event Coordination:
Assisting with the coordination of educational events where the SYKL film canbe shown, with the goals of promoting awareness, engaging the local community, and reducingstigma.

Advertising Design:
Assist with the Consumer Committee's public awareness campaign, whichaims to spread the word about the Anti-Stigma Campaign and SYKL film, reduce stigmathrough normalizing the topic and existence of HIV, and promote the Boston EMA Ryan WhitePlanning Council.
Tasks could include logo advertisement design, communicating withMBTA Advertising staff, and tracking engagement.
Please describe the internship learning outcomes:
The Anti-Stigma Campaign intern would gain valuable experience in event and program coordination, communityengagement and outreach, creative design (through activities like web design and the creation of logos/advertisements),and monitoring and evaluation.
The intern would also gain insight into the HIV epidemic in Boston, and stigmareduction initiatives, and well as gain experience working with community stakeholders, presenting, and meetingfacilitation.
Minimum Qualifications Marketing, visual arts students.
Video and web design.
Event coordination.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
