Position Description:
Develops supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning (ML) algorithmsregression, decisions trees/random forest, neural networks, feature selection/reduction, clustering, and parameter tuning.
Researches and builds complex, cutting edge and scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, models, platforms, and technologies to improve customer experiences and drive business results.
Drives and oversees projects involving large scale-multi dimensional databases, complex business infrastructure, and cross-functional teams.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Analyzes predictive modeling, tuning, operationalization, and scalability of business technologies to inform and establish decision strategies.
Transforms large volumes of data into AI-driven solutions using creative, cutting edge open source methods and technologies.
Identifies and prioritizes top AI opportunities to create business and technical requirements.
Formulates mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.
Performs validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulates models as necessary.
Collaborates with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.
Presents the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users.
Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
Identifies and consults with internal and external technical resources to produce cross-company strategic initiatives.
Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience building Natural Language Processing (NLP) models in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience building Natural Language Processing (NLP) models in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, a Doctor of Philosophy degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and no experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing advanced statistical analysis to develop and evaluate supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning (ML) algorithmsRegression, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, linear and mixed effect models, Feature Selection, Hyper-Parameter tuning, and ranking models; and developing and evaluating supervised and unsupervised ML algorithms using Python and ML libraries - PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, NLTK, and Gensim.
DE building and implementing modern Natural Language Processing techniques (Named Entity Recognition and Knowledge Graph driven methods); and implementing AI technologies within a financial domainportfolio construction, financial statement analysis, and statistical analysis of financial datasets.
DE launching ML and Deep Learning (DL) models to perform data and runtime profiling of solutions and assess the efficacy of ML and AI algorithms (experimental design, A/B testing, performance monitoring, AI fairness evaluation, and bias mitigations) in remote computer servers and online environments.
