Technical Designer - Men's Performance Apparel - Boston

Our client, a performance activewear brand, is currently seeking an Apparel Tech Designer for Men's to join their growing product team.
This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining tech packs, organizing, and leading apparel fittings, and maintaining a close partnership across design, development, and factory partners.

Responsibilities:
Create and maintain development tech packs including construction information pages, garment specifications, bill of material, and size grade rules Organize and lead apparel fittings with fit models, pre-measured garments, and structure of session Manage the relationship with fit models and schedule fittings to meet development timelines Prepare samples for fittings through measurement and construction reviews Collaborate with the Patternmaker to manage all existing and new fit blocks Provide recommendations on how to improve fit, construction, and garment quality following company standards and regulations Manage and prioritize workload to help meet development and production timelines Communicate and maintain all fit comments with images and or revised patterns Review markers with Patternmaker for the most efficient fabric usage and garment layout based on nature of fabric Expand sizing for Men's and Women's product lines Collaborate closely with designers to establish and curate design ideas into mockups Travel to patternmakers, fittings, and factories when necessary Review and track all development samples and review sample room priorities regularly Participate in evening calls (1-2/week) with vendors, factories, and development team in China, as needed 5% - 20% regional and international travel Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience within apparel tech design 4-5
years of related experience, prior experience with athletic performance product a plus! Strong understanding of patternmaking, garment construction, and apparel fit Knowledgeable in a variety of materials, performance fabrics, finishes, and constructions Working proficiency within Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator Creative problem solver and analytical thinker; resourceful and agile learner Flexible, embrace change, and excel in a fast-paced environment Relentless attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills Developed interpersonal and communication skills If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
