Position Overview:
The successful postdoctoral research fellow will pioneer a generation of new chemists that tightly integrate enabling technologies through a multidisciplinary project that leverages High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) and Cheminformatics/Machine Learning in our Discovery Chemistry organization.
The incumbent fellow will combine state of the art HTE technologies and machine learning (ML) methods to conceive, execute and enrich reaction success rates for the synthetic transformations of high interest to Discovery/Medicinal Chemistry research.
The candidate will work closely with data scientists to learn how to distill key information out from reaction datasets generated by HTE and enabling reaction prediction via machine learning.
The candidate will collaborate across disciplines within our company's Research Laboratories and contribute to our company's external reputation through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
The successful fellow must have excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
Geographically, the position will be full-time within Discovery Chemistry in Boston, MA, but expected to travel to our NJ or PA site when necessary.

Learning and applying state-of-the-art chemistry technologies, including high-throughput experimentation (HTE), data science, and machine learning, to problem solve and quickly drive innovations in synthetic methodology.
Design experiments using high throughput reaction techniques for the synthetic transformation of interest.
Leverage modern computational workflows to leverage large and small datasets for reaction prediction.
Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting.
Present ideas and results in our company'sinternal meetingsPublish research in peer-reviewed journals and present work at scientific conferences.
Demonstrate a high degree of responsibility in maintaining scientific standards, and safe laboratory practices for self and reporting staff, if any.
Collaborate effectively with adjacent functional and technical experts to facilitate scientific success.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Candidates must currently hold or will you have completed your PhD within the next year in Organic Chemistry.
Required Experience and Skills:
Proven ability to independently design and execute experiments, interpret data, and identify suitable follow-up approaches.
Demonstrate the ability to solve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.
Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, creativity, and integrityComfort in the use of new technologiesDemonstrate scientific writing skills and strong verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in the area of high throughput experimentation.
Experience in mechanistic studies/computation for reaction optimization.
Demonstrated aptitude for learning & adopting new software, tools, and technologies.
Knowledge in machine learning algorithms.
Strong history of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
