Senior Systems Engineer with Security Clearance
Position Summary Odyssey Systems has a thrilling new Maritime Domain Awareness project that requires a dynamic team of engineers to design, build, test, and deliver security and surveillance vehicles and platforms for the Egyptian NavyThis opportunity allows you to build upon your current experience while working with the latest sea-based surveillance technologiesThis is an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer with specialty skill experience in one or more of the following areas:
system design, integration, and productionAs a Senior Systems Engineer, you will perform a range of engineering tasks across multiple disciplinesThe systems engineering team will lead the design, integration, test, and delivery of multiple security and surveillance sensors networked across multiple platforms working together to detect, identify, and track objects of interestYou will provide systems engineering and technical support to mechanical, structural, electrical, and test engineers and foster a team environment to perform analysis, develop requirements, define problems, and create and implement solutions for complex problems Availability of position is contingent upon contract award Responsibilities You will report directly to the Chief Engineer and become an integral part of the engineering teamYou may lead a team of other engineers depending on the assigned task and will brief the status of your teams' tasks during the daily stand upsYou and your team will be responsible for the research, design, implementation, and integration of sensors, platforms, computer systems, and network solutions as guided by the systems requirements documentsDesign and integration work to develop the first article will be documented as part of a greater Technical Data PackageThe team will thoroughly test the first article of each system to gain approval for productionAs a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead production efforts, examining for proper assembly and consistency, ensuring the systems meet the as-built design documents, and are documented in accordance to program requirementsOnce the systems are produced, they will be delivered to Egypt for installation, configuration, and final testingSensor and platforms will be installed below the sea, on land, and on land-based communication towersTo accomplish the goals above, you should be good at analyzing program and user needs, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, physics, and mathematical analysis, and providing attention to detail throughout the engineering processDuties include, but not limited to:
o Draft, review, and provide input during the development of the overarching systemo Provide analysis that compare and quantify proposed system designs and conceptso Provide technical recommendations including reviews, studies, evaluations and scientific and procedural guidanceo Support development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenarioso Participate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware and software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development and system delivery.
o Develop, plan, and implement, strategies; develop analysis; analyze and evaluate test results for complex system and subsystem test and evaluation activities; perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and procedureso Coordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors other support contractors; monitor contractor performance during Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), fielding, Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Operational Acceptance (OA)o Document and maintain detailed functional requirements relative to the solution to ensure traceability analysis and assist with the development of life cycle cost models as needed.
o Familiarization and development of the following documents is required:
o Preliminary and detailed application designso Interface Control Documents (ICD)o Capability Development Document (CDD)o Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)o System / Subsystem Design Document (SSDD)o System Engineering Plans (SEPs)o System tests plans, test scenarios, test reports, acceptance test descriptionso System Installation Planso Standard Operators Procedures (SOPs)o Engineering activities such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), Production Readiness Review (PRR), and Program Management Review (PMR).
o Develop and maintain relationships with DoD, US Navy, Egyptian Navy, and Community stakeholders throughout the Maritime Domain Awareness enterpriseo Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction Qualifications Minimum Required
