Job Description:
The TeamWith roughly $650 billion in assets under management, Fidelity Asset Management Solutions (FAMS) is a leading provider of multi-asset class solutions for retail and institutional clients.
The range of investment solutions includes target date funds, target allocations funds, income and real return strategies, world allocation funds, managed-volatility strategies and other custom institutional solutions.
FAMS is also developing and managing a range of cross-asset liquid alternative strategies, including managed futures, alternative risk premia, risk parity, global macro-opportunities, arbitrage products, and option-based hedging strategies.
The FAMS Quantitative Research team provides research and analysis to portfolio managers and other investment professionals in support of our broad range of investment solutions.
This research is vital in helping portfolio managers to select the most suitable investment options and manage asset class and risk exposures across all investment solutions delivered by FAMS.
Members of the team either work directly within a specific investment team as an embedded analyst or support all investment teams across FAMS as a central analyst.
The RoleFidelity is seeking an experienced Senior Quantitative Analyst to join the FAMS division.
The position will be located at the company s headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts.
As an analyst, you will form and communicate market views, develop and evaluate innovative systematic strategies, improve frameworks for both strategic and tactical asset allocation, and refine our tools for outcome-driven portfolio construction and risk management.
This work will improve the process used to manage Fidelity s mutual funds and client accounts and will also aid in the design and launch of new products.
Specific responsibilities will depend on your level of experience, aptitude, and current divisional needs, which will evolve over time.
For example, there are opportunities to contribute to projects related to target date glidepath design, downside protection and robust diversification, proprietary factor models, systematic strategies like managed futures, or liability driven investment solutions.
Ideally you will have strong quantitative, programming and data modeling skills with the ability to think analytically, communicate clearly and work collaboratively.
The Value You Deliver Independently develop and communicate global macro market views to influence active allocation decisions Lead research in strategic design and active allocation positioning from inception to implementation Build robust quantitative tools to aid all aspects of portfolio construction Understand, maintain, and improve infrastructure supporting investment processes Monitor, measure, manage, and attribute portfolio risks and returns Collaborate closely with other investment and technology professionals within the division Explain complex quantitative concepts to non-technical people; mentor other analysts Present research to key stakeholders; publish timely research notes and thought leadership The Expertise and Skills You BringThe role requires a well-rounded professional who possesses a deep understanding of market dynamics, systematic quantitative investment strategies, processes for translating investment objectives and constraints into portfolio construction, implementation considerations, and risk management.
Additionally, the position requires:
Bachelor s, Master s, or PhD degree in mathematics, engineering, science, finance, or business 10
