We are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient research associate level cell biologist with some experience culturing and running experiments with mammalian cells.
This role will apply both simple and complex models of mammalian epidermal cell culture to model the responses of the skin to various stimuli.
The candidate will use molecular and imaging based techniques.
Additionally, the candidate will work together with the greater technical team to maintain a tidy, organized, and functional laboratory space.
This role is important to the establishment of Arcaea's internal skin biology research capabilities and reports to the scientist for skin biology.
An intrepid pioneering growth mindset with solid fundamentals in cell biology and an appreciation for how various cells and niches of the skin combine to maintain the body's largest and most conspicuous organ is desired.

Maintains and propagates established cell lines, including cryopreserving viable stocks, monitoring for contamination, and cell line morphology Conduct routine cell culture screening experiments using ELISA, fluorescence and brightfield microscopy, immunostaining, and qPCR Prepare ex vivo tissue samples and cut cryo sections for slides Conduct routine image acquisition and analysis Prepare and monitor stocks of necessary reagents, solutions and supplies Document, compile, and analyze experimental data and report data to the team in oral and written reports Flexibility to assist with other functionalities to facilitate meeting project deadlines as needed WHAT WE SEEK:
Bachelor's degree in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering or related field 0-1 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or beauty industry lab experience preferred Experienced with primary and immortalized mammalian cell culture The ideal candidate will have some experience with ELISA, fluorescence and brightfield microscopy, immunostaining, and qPCR.
Willingness to learn the preparation and handling of ex vivo tissue samples for histological and immune-based bioassay analysis Expertise in data management, analysis of large data sets, and statistics Highly observant, strong attention to detail and proven note taking skills Able to effectively communicate experimental results, challenges, and questions Ability to multitask and adapt to changing workflows in a fast-paced work environment We are committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion in all its practices.

Salary Range is:
