JOB DESCRIPTION;SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Housekeeper will perform daily, weekly, and monthly laundering and cleaning responsibilities as determined by the Supervisor.

High school Diploma or GEDAbility to read and understand printed labels, signage, and instructionsThe ability to understand and speak EnglishKNOWLEDGE/

Minimum of six (6) months of institutional or commercial industry cleaningPREFERRED:
Knowledge of industry standards as applied to Sanitation and General ProceduresPHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:
REQUIRED:
Ability to perform frequent bending, standing, stooping, stretching and walkingAbility to turn over twenty-five (25) pound mattress for cleaningAbility to lift up to fifty (50) poundsAbility to perform frequent and repetitive motions to perform all types of cleaning functionsMENTAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:
REQUIRED:
Ability to read and fully understand printed labels and instructionsAbility to understand all chemical safety/handling instructions required and used to perform cleaning dutiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Wipes and disinfects beds and pillows in the Men's Inn (up to 60 beds per day)Cleans all areas that are to be used by guestsCleans dorm which include three floorsMopping floorsEmpty 55 gallon trash barrels each day from various dorm areasPerforms special projects throughout the yearMaintains and keeps all janitorial closets in proper orderRe-stocks janitorial closets and carts at the end of each shiftFollows prescribed cleaning methods and formulas set forth by the supervisorCompletes inspection sheets dailyMay be asked to cover the laundry responsibilities as neededPerform other additional assignments or projects as requested/directed by supervisorComply with all workplace health and safety requirements of the Inn, and elevate matters impacting health and safety to SupervisorComply with and model compliance with all PSI policies, including illness prevention and occupational health policies.
