Planning Manager
Planning Manager responsible for delivering project plans for a flagship US offshore wind project. The role is working directly for a global leader in offshore renewable energy development, construction and operation.This is a full-time, permanent staff position based in Boston (hybrid).RoleThe key function of the Planning Manager is to deliver and maintain standard, consistent and realistic projectplans reflecting the assessed risk parameters for the project.Main
Responsibilities:
Deliver and maintain consistent and realistic plans and control structures for the project. Understand the list of plans required to execute for each workstream and their interface to other workstreams. Develop the activities, logic, resources and progress for the project workstreams, leading to the creation of the baseline schedule and its subsequent maintenance. Develop, implement and comply with the planning and progress monitoring procedures. Conduct the schedule monthly progress update, forecast, critical path and trend analyses for assigned elements, including any impact from interface areas. Implement and maintain the status reports. Provide regular and comprehensive schedule status reports to workstream managers. Assess and incorporate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from the key Project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and identification of alternate approaches to optimize the plan(s). Liaise with and challenge workstream leads to ensure proper understanding of the key Schedule sensitivities and drivers. Develop contract key dates, milestones and plan dates that align with the overall Project schedule. Participate in evaluating bid schedules and reviewing contractor plans to support contract award recommendations. Develop contract sections for planning and progress reporting. Review and verify contractors reported progress and ensure that this is reflected in the project schedule. Contribute to the translation of the project's risk profile into the probabilistic risk model and understand the output, including the key risk drivers for the possible range of schedule completion dates. Track the criticality of the main paths to completion and float consumption. Where possible, assess project targets through internal & external benchmarking. Apply fit-for-purpose tools & procedures not only for working in a JV environment, but also offshore wind. RequirementsMinimum Requirements:
Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Planning Engineer or equivalent experience Significant industry experience in planning positions. Demonstrabale experience in a lead planning role in both the frontend and execution phases of an opportunity or Project is preffered. Good written and oral communications Fully versed with Planning principles & techniques and Primavera P6 Experience with offshore projects is a strong plus Knowledge of the design and development of offshore wind farms, including related transmisi n infrastructure would be a plus. Effective communicator with ability to collaborate and integrate the many parties usually at the table. Engagement skills at all levels of the project team Behavioral Requirements:
Ability to rapidly move between different assignments that have a wide variety of technical elements, carefully managing time and assignments. Very strong written and oral communication skills including proven ability to quickly review and edit complex documents.
