Research Technician, Radiation Oncology

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The primary duty of the Research Technician is to conduct research focusing on the preclinical development of novel cancer therapeutics and translational studies to improve patient care.
Specifically, the Research Technician will be responsible in performing the following tasks: 1) cell culture, 2) testing in vivo treatment efficacy in mouse nerve and ovarian cancer models, and performing treatment and tumor measurements, 3) molecular biology analysis to study mechanisms, 4) process patient samples for translational studies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Attend research design meetings and contribute feedback when applicable.
Perform all the planned experiments such as in vitro cytotoxicity and after having received the training testing immunotherapy in mouse tumor models
Records and tracks data and related information, maintaining a lab notebook and other files.
Conduct analysis and interpretation of the results generated through working by collaborating with post doc fellows.
Prepare the first draft of the manuscript(s) which summarize(s) the results generated by the performed experiments.
Attend and make presentations at lab meetings and journal clubs.
Work safely within the lab environment and in performing work duties. Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Participate in general upkeep of the lab, troubleshooting of equipment and follow all lab, safety and hospital protocols and policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Ability to proficiently perform laboratory research and use standard lab equipment.
Must be self-motivated; must be able to collaborate effectively and work as a member of a team
Ability to pro-actively identify problems and discuss them with the PI
Ability to prioritize tasks and set and meet deadlines
Ability to work carefully, accurately and follow instructions and/or protocols
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Internet searches helpful
Should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced evolving environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary.
Willing to learn mouse work: establish tumor models, monitor mouse tumor burden, tumor irradiation, blood and tumor tissue collections and immunostaining.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
New graduates with some lab experience (via course work, internships, etc.) or those without any prior research experience will be considered for the Research Technician I position outlined above.
Those with a minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience will be considered for a Research Technician II position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
