Job DescriptionGlobal Custody:
Data Management lead The Product organization is recruiting for the lead role covering Data Management supporting Global Head of Custody Product Development globally.
The individual will partner with the Product team, Global Delivery (operations) and Technology to execute on the data strategy for custody that includes cloud native data platform, defining the data capability that provides the business context, data channels and data insight progression of analysis, visualization, and prediction and integration with overall front to back alpha data platform, in alignment with Custody product strategic objective to strengthen State Street s position in the Asset Servicing industry.
State Street s product organisation is leading an exciting period of transformation for the business and requires experienced leaders to take the business forward.
The role will initiate and support designing, developing solutions and closing identified data gaps in alignment with the data strategy to build a data driven operating model.
FunctionAs the lead you will work with the Head of Custody Product Development to establish the data practice that has the depth and expertise to effectively execute on the overall agenda described above.
The role reports to the Head of Custody Product Development.
The role requires you to be proactively involved in the assessment of available market intelligence (trends, innovations, standards and tools) and stakeholder feedback (clients and coverage/product management) to support the evolution of the custody business data needs.
ResponsibilitiesThe lead for data will have responsibility for the following:
Execute on the strategy and development agenda to build a data driven operating model partnering with technology, office of architecture, operations and enterprise data management covering:
Data governance and quality aligning with enterprise modelData capability including industry standards impacting the custody businessData infrastructure and data sourcingData channelsData insights/visualisation - work with the data collected and develop relevant, actionable insightsDeliver a clear data product roadmap in-collaboration with Custody Product Development headEnsure change remains aligned to existing standards and/or internal enterprise data management policies.
Support design and efficiency of the operating model such as the development of operational control oversight and dashboard across the custody capability with actionable workflows, partnering with technology and operationsDevelopment in partnership with product control a product data platform to provide insight into the business.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate governance, compliance with policies/frameworks and oversight of issues, risks, audit and compliance items related to data topicsPresent to senior management as requested and lead delivery of initiatives as required.
SkillsBackground or experience in data solutions, data modelling, analysis and visualizationGood understanding of the custody domain and capabilities to make informed decisions and data related to this subject area - critical to understand the business applications of data insights (e.
g.
, what business questions do need to be answered) and what data elements will effectively satisfy those needs.
Strong analytical skillsPrior experience of successfully delivering change in a complex environment whilst managing competing environments, and delivering projects using Agile and Waterfall techniquesProven change agent with track record of deliveryTrack record of working in the data space with ISO standards and development of data solutions to solve problemsHave an understanding of a variety of data management and data analysis software packages, databases and data visualization toolsFamiliarity with industry integration tools and their applicability in shortening the chain of custody across the investment lifecycleStrong stakeholder management skills with an ability to navigate organizationExperienceSeasoned leader with 10
years experience in Securities ServicesWorked in Product organizations or data or digital transformation rolesOperated at a global levelPrior experience working in data and/or technology- familiarity with tools such as JavaScript, Python & Python Libraries, Structured Query Language (SQL) , Hadoop, Snowflake, Qlik, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, Artificial intelligence , Collibra , Manta would be usefulConsultative experienceTrack record of solving data integration challenges and building data solutions across complex and at scale servicesOutcomes expected from the roles In depth understanding custody and related data management needs;Proactive input and idea generation for product development roadmapMaintain up to date understanding of data tools, standards and changes in building actionable insightsResponsible for issue and risk escalationProject /initiative ownership as requested as the product ownerAppropriate governance and audit trail on documentation of all key decisions and actions.
