Boston, MA A global asset management firm is looking for an experienced Software Developer with a background in mathematics to help build cutting edge software applications on its elite team.
The ideal software developer will work directly with portfolio managers to create statistical models and algorithms to help make informed financial decisions.
The Software Developer will be responsible for:
Requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of financial software applications The ideal Software Developer will have:
Full stack Java developer (UI, middle tier, and DB) with an emphasis on the middle tier Experience with MATLAB, Mathematica, Maple, SAS, R, or any other mathematical modeling software Full understanding of the software development life cycle Experience with SQL and exposure to DB Tools like MS SQL Server Management Studio and/or Navicat (MS SQL Server and MySQL is preferable) Ability to test code using standard methodologies - unit, integration, and regression testing Familiar with one common IDE (ex.
Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.
) Math major/minor and knowledge of Statistics, Probability, and Linear Algebra Computer Science major/minor or equivalent experience Experience with financial mathematics Basic understanding of financial instruments and their properties (Bond, Equity, Derivative, etc.
) The Software Engineer will be working in downtown Boston.
