As the Principal Business Analyst, you will be a member of the Business Analysis and Planning and Delivery leadership team providing leadership through enterprise project work. You will provide holistic view and vision and input to designing solutions to enable efficient and streamlined end-to-end business processes.


Responsibilities:

Strategic View and Vision

  • Implement strategic view and goals across multiple HMH Enterprise programs by;
  • Working with business team to define vision and goals
  • Working with architecture team to define technical direction to implement goals
  • Participating in evaluation of solutions to form part of technical vision
  • Interacting with strategic groups across HMH to drive strategic vision

End to End View and Quality Leader

  • Maintain the holistic view of the program while working with program teams to assess the overall end user experience and a focus on the delivery of business value.
  • Oversee and provide input into end to end exploratory testing across dependent components and multiple scrum teams to focus on the true end user's experience, identifying dependencies or impacts which would not be known or tested by individual scrum teams.
  • Support continuous user testing of the project by providing product and process knowledge and being point of contact within the team during UAT and UET.
  • Co-ordinate metrics capture for reporting and predictive analysis pre and post go-live.

Leadership

  • Be a leader within Planning and Delivery, representing the Business Analysis team to management and representing the Technology Group to other groups in the organization.
  • Facilitate executive team members through strategic planning sessions and delivering analysis on products to support decision making.
  • Mentor team members

Program Leadership

  • Support the program leadership team for the programs of work by providing a holistic view and leveraging problem solving experience to address issues and drive quality.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to define and implement project strategy and vision, in order to integrate with overall program initiatives and deliver high quality products/features on a schedule
  • that meets customer needs.
  • Proactively communicate to internal and external stakeholders at all levels, presented in the appropriate format.

Process Leader

  • Act as advocate for scrum and nimble processes in the program teams and wider group by contributing to scrum ceremonies and seeking areas for constant improvement and reflection to ensure teams are empowered.
  • Play an active role in training and improvement programs for improving our process by seeking out and promoting opportunities for learning and growth.

Thought Leader

  • Partner with marketing, research and other key stakeholders to determine product definition and requirements that meet customer needs, including field visits to customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a computer science, multimedia, eLearning or related field
  • 10
    years of experience in a similar BA role
  • Experience in leading business requirements definition for multiple simultaneous projects for large software applications
  • Experience in identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing initiatives
  • Solid understanding and prior experience leading teams with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g. JIRA and Confluence) for multiple simultaneous projects for large enterprise - wide software applications
  • Demonstrated experience delivering to product strategy and product roadmaps
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a specialist area such as set of products
  • Experience of effective people management and resource planning.
  • Self-starter, highly driven and willing to make decisions as appropriate
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and accurate
  • Ability to encourage team creativity and innovation
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven experience in analytical, research and problem solving techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to easily communicate to varying audiences of all technical and business levels
  • Passion for creating innovative technology solutions for students and teachers
  • Experience in working in and leading teams (including virtual teams) and mentoring team members

Preferred:

  • Experience of Enterprise solutions(SAP, SFDC) and process(sales, order to cash etc)
  • Agile Product Owner certification
  • Agile Scrum Master certification
  • Participation in industry and knowledge groups and associations

Physical Requirements:
Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
