The Program Manager (APM) is responsible for the delivery of key program s to achie ve HMH strategic goals and objectives. They align multiple projects and teams across the organization, effectively managing the focus, communication and transparency across teams. T he APM takes high - performing team s found in a single team/ product environment and scales it across a larger product portfolio , maintaining productivity, predictability and quality.

T he APM takes high - performing team s found in a single team/ product environment and scales it across a larger product portfolio , maintaining productivity, predictability and quality.
The primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Program Communication - Optimize communication paths throughout the program team ; E nsure work is shared and allocated correctly to increase team and team - to - team communication
- Program Focus - S olidify and focus teams ; Funnel projects and work items to teams; Manage work to available team capacity
- Program Transparency - D efine product and release cycles (Release Vision, Release Scope and Boundaries, Release Planning) ; Align team sprint cycles within that plan with a shared view (Sprint Planning, Develop & Test, Review & Adapt) o Share team sprint reviews, ensuring release updates
- Prepare program level materials for steering committee meetings, operations review with senior leadership, and other meetings as necessary.
- Manage program status meetings, collaborate with work - stream leads, ensure program is being managed efficiently, a nd manage issue resolution to prevent unnecessary escalation.
- Manage and report on budget at a program level.
- Identify, engage, maintain and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Point of escalation for program blockers.
- Monitor and maintain best practices to ensure smooth program delivery.
Knowledge and skills Required:
- 4
years program management experience required, with at least 2 years of that in an agile program management role.
- Leadership skills to manage the multiple teams throughout the program life cycle.
- E xperience in managing multiple agile projects concurrently with the ability to move between high level and detailed .
- Advanced organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, representing the company positively and appropriately in all situations.
- Ability to drive consensus among various internal stakeholders, including executive management and third parties
- Customer service orientation with ability to manage relationships with internal and external customers.
- Strong 3rd party management capabilities, including negotiation and delivery management
- Experience liaising with and managing geographically remote teams including working with different cultures.
- The ability to foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to have a strong impact and influence key decisions.
- Logical thinking with creative problem -solving ability.
- Team management experience; comfortable managing in a matrix environment project teams of up to 30 people.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
