Senior Financial Analyst

The Physician Organization of the Department of Imaging has an annual revenue budget of $100 million dollars, providing oversight for over forty cost centers. The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the PO Finance Manager, supporting the manager with departmental financial functions, financial analysis, financial presentations, managing the financial system, and problem-solving issues relating to PO finance and billing. The jobs primary responsibilities, but not limited to, include the following:
Accountable for all revenues and expenses associated with the $200 million-dollar revenue and expense Radiology Associates portfolio
Responsible for developing all required materials for financial reporting and presentations on a weekly/monthly basis and as needed.
Performs comprehensive monthly productivity analyses and reports findings to senior leadership.
Presents findings to Radiology Senior Leadership during monthly financial close meetings, physician leadership meetings, etc.
Responsible for database maintenance, development and workflow automation of routine financial transactions and analyses
Evaluates and improves department financial reporting system and processes.
Prepares finance tools and worksheets for Operations teams as necessary.
Keeps abreast of external regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance.
Assists in providing financial and business advisory services to internal teams to assist them in meeting their clinical and business objectives, specifically the Off-Campus-Imaging Sites, Drug Trials, Teleradiology, Consulting, Marketing and other arms.
Work closely with the Professional Billing Office to understand the financial impact of patient revenue and its associated volume, service mix, and payer mix shifts affecting our practices.
Develop business plans to understand costs and benefits of various different proposals and initiatives
Performs financial analysis
Creates, designs and maintains various spreadsheet applications.
Analyzes monthly financials of all cost centers to review revenue, expense, and FTE usage. Monitors variance and trends. Identifies errors or areas of concern, reports to Finance Manager, and works with relevant parties to resolve issues, or give recommendations based on analysis.
Able to work professionally and discreetly with sensitive compensation related information.
Performs needs assessment, financial analyses as they relate to department/organizational programs.
Performs ad-hoc analysis in response to inquiries, including those from Imaging Department staff, GH or Partners offices, or outside vendors.
Develops revenue, expense, and margin projections
Responsible for maintaining all financial data/files pertaining to the financial operation of the department, including data input/import on a regular basis.
Tracks and reports on all capital accounts and renovation projects.
Completes check requests and Purchase Order requisition as necessary.
Assists in resolving all problems/inquiries from MGH Budget Office and Partners Finance /Accounting Office
Reviews and processes invoices as necessary
Effectively interacts with all levels of management and physician workforce.
Handles confidential institutional information.
Performs all other duties that are unit specific and are appropriate to this level of position.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent required
Required: 4-6 years or related experience required
Preferred: Healthcare experience preferred
