Business Applications Systems Developer

Business Applications Systems Developers within the Real Time Systems SCADA team have a wide range of support responsibilities requiring a combination of core IT skills and Engineering knowledge.
This position is responsible for participating in the development, maintenance/support, and enhancement of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) business applications.
Incumbents plan, design, develop, test, coordinate, implement and maintain computer business applications and system interfaces including, but not limited to, GE Powerlink Advantage (PLA), OSIsoft PI System, GE GEN4 SCADA/EMS system and other SCADA-related real-time subsystems.
Incumbents also provide first-level support related to key hardware infrastructure components, such as servers, workstations and data concentrators and coordinate with second-level support teams for installation, configuration, maintenance and support of other infrastructure components such as switches/routers, firewalls, etc.
as neededThis position is also responsible for maintaining all SCADA data utilized by clients for monitoring, control and overall operability of the electric grid, thus an understanding of electrical engineering concepts and SCADA data is necessary for this position.
Incumbents maintain core SCADA and PLA database and displays, ICCP data, PI historical data, Mapboard data, configuration of data concentrators, etc.
Essential functions performed by individuals in this position include:
Analyze business / technical and related issues to formulate and develop or purchase new and/or modified computer applications and systems.
Revise existing applications, systems, and procedures and use appropriate tools to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion and storage Provide technical expertise, guidance and consultation to IT personnel and business users in the design, development and implementation of major and supporting SCADA systems.
Reconcile user requirements with existing and/or projected computer capacity, capabilities and performance.
Prepare documentation, and may conduct program tests and correct program errors.
Analyze system's capabilities to resolve questions of program standards, output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques and controls.
Advise on new technologies and estimate costs associated with data processing programs.
Knowledge and understanding with the following:
Reading wiring diagrams, electrical schematics or mechanical layouts; Software Requirements Engineering, Software Design/ Implementation/ Maintenance related to real-time embedded systems; RS-232 serial communications; Object-oriented designing and programming; Maintaining application level security; Data and display maintenance related to system changes; The following programming languages:
C/C+
and STL (Standard Template Library), VisualBasic/C+
(DLL, Win32 API, MFC), VB.
NET, VB Script in MS Excel, EXCEL Micro/API, Perl, XML, Java, JavaScript, PHP; Relational Databases (MS SQL Server and Oracle), SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Programming; PLC knowledge of RTU protocols including DNP3, Telegyr, Harris and Modbus; Utilizing Wireshark for protocol analysis; Network communications:
TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, Ethernet architecture within a LAN/WAN, RS232; Windows O/S (PC and Server), RedHat Linux, UNIX.
Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related and two (2) years progressive post baccalaureate work experience and technical proficiency in SCADA systems or Industrial Control Systems which encompass the following:
System monitoring and control, data acquisition, data communications, data interfaces from various sources (hardware, software, database, text files) and HMI (human-machine interface) to provide live view of near real-time data.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
